Hi all,
I would like to remind you that applications for the following position (roughly equivalent to a tenure track position) close on Monday. It is a contract position for five years that carries the option for conversion to a continuing position after at least three years , subject to satisfactory performance and capacity need in the University.
André
Ref 1762/19 Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow in Neuromorphic Engineering
International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems
We are seeking a forward thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to take on a role at the level of Researcher (Level B) or Senior Researcher (Level C) in Neuromorphic Engineering.
The position will complement existing research in neuromorphic hardware, algorithms, and signal processing. The position holder will be a member of strong research team, and will be involved in supervision of Honours, Masters, and PhD students.
The Centre is developing a postgraduate course in Neuromorphic Engineering, and, while most members of ICNS will be involved in developing and teaching the degree, it will be the responsibility of the successful applicant to coordinate its development. This will involve the development of new units of study in collaboration with existing staff members at ICNS and the School of Computing, Engineering, and Mathematics, and with our international partners. These will need to be ready for delivery in 2021.
The International Centre for Neuromorphic Systems (ICNS) is a new centre within the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development. The Centre is explicitly interdisciplinary, by combining electrical engineering, computer science, signal processing, and neuroscience. ICNS’s focus is on developing Neuromorphic Engineering solutions to existing problems. The Centre has strong international partnerships within the Neuromorphic engineering community.
In the MARCS Institute you will be part of a research concentration with researchers from many disciplines including cognitive science, developmental psychology, language science, music science, cognitive neuroscience, and biomedical, electrical, electronic and software engineering. The vision for MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development is to optimise human interaction, wellbeing, and development. We strive to solve the problems that matter most through the themes: sensing and perceiving, interacting with each other, and technologies for humans.
