[CapoCaccia - announce] Postdoc opportunity at U Penn - Physics

Durian, Douglas J djdurian at physics.upenn.edu
Mon Nov 11 17:18:24 CET 2024

The Durian lab seeks motivated postdoc candidates for experimental projects on contrastive local learning networks – mainly electrical but also mechanical or fluidic. The overall aims are to understand the physical process by which complex functionality emerges and to use this knowledge to create larger-scale learning systems that are more capable, energy efficient, and robust – like the brain. More information is available at https://www.physics.upenn.edu/people/standing-faculty/douglas-durian and https://www.lrsm.upenn.edu/irg1<https://www.lrsm.upenn.edu/irg1/>. All work will be in continuing close collaboration with other groups in Penn. Experience with electronics, artificial intelligence, the statistical physics of machine learning, and/or neuromorphic computing will be helpful. Questions/Resume/CV may be sent to Douglas Durian, djdurian at physics.upenn.edu<mailto:djdurian at physics.upenn.edu>.

The University of Pennsylvania is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. Individuals in underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply. Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States. Please circulate to anyone who might be interested.

Thank you, -Doug
